Łukasz Huculak

Scholarship holder of the Polish Ministry of Culture, the Government of Bavaria and NGOs. Winner of the Festival of Painting in Szczecin and the Festival of Painting Bielska Jesień. Member of the Artistic Council of the Lower Silesian Society for the Encouragement of Fine Arts and the editorial committee of the Silesian Art Yearbooks. He runs a painting studio and directs doctoral studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. He is a frequent curator and publishes texts on art. Several collective publications (exhibition catalogs and the volume Surplus and Lack) have been published under his editorship. Professor.

Artist residencies at Europaische Kunstlerhaus SCHAFHOF (Munich), University of Tennessee (Knoxville, USA), CROUS de Paris in Paris and in Palermo (Verein Düsseldorf - Palermo e. V.).

He has exhibited his works at the Musee des Arts et Metiers in Paris, the Riso Museo d'Arte Contemporanea della Sicilia, the National Museum in Wroclaw, the MN in Gdansk, the Center for Nature Education at Jagiellonian University, the State Art Gallery in Sopot, the Contemporary Museum in Wroclaw, the Ossoliński National Institute in Wroclaw, the Manggha Art Center in Krakow and the Zachęta National Gallery in Warsaw.

In solo shows and curatorial projects, he addresses corporeality and mortality (Late Symptoms of Death, Psychopomp) man's relationship with the non-human world (Heliotropes, Sopra Minerva, Science / Fiction, Aurora, La force des plantes, In the depths of the image, Untitled, Incantations) and the historical contexts of modernism (Detail/Spaces, Migrations, Untitled, Surface).
