About
From the 8th to the 25th of September, mia ART GALLERY will feature the paintings of an exceptional artist, full of life and panache.
Manfred Dörner is a painter by passion, locksmith and dental technician by education. He wants to get to know Poland, which he has never visited. He wants to see Poland through the eyes of viewers of contemporary art, through which he has been communicating with the world for years.
Manfred Dörner’s paintings embody sensitivity, a need for beauty, intransigence, courage and the pursuit of harmony. Painting is his way to feel happiness and freedom.
“I go to the studio to enjoy myself, to fill my life with meaning. My works perpetuate a sense of the aesthetic that dominates in me on a given day. I am always guided by my mood and my hunches. I spontaneously choose the shape and size of the canvas, the type and colour of paints. Each subsequent work I consider finished gives me strength to continue to create.”
Manfred Dörner was born 16.09.1945 in Wiesbaden. He is a self-taught artist, and a locksmith and dental technician by profession. Towards the end of the 1970s, he moved from Wiesbaden to Fribourg. There, in the city of university students and artists, he rented a studio with two other people and began his adventure with sculpting. He began painting in 1991, when he moved to Berlin. “I couldn’t find the right studio to work with metals, and since I don’t like wood, I took up with the canvas.”
He has shown his sculptures and paintings in galleries and at art fairs in Germany and in other countries.
