Lev Stern

The Second Day, a painting exhibition

Curator : Opening : 22.06.2018 | Fabryka Sensu, ul. Benedykta Polaka 21/4

About

The Wrocław Salon of Fine Arts, VOL 2, or mia ART GALLERY with Lev Stern’s exhibition of paintings, will be hosted by Fabryka Sensu, an unusual, beautiful, open and vibrant place.

The latest paintings by the artist – a painter and architect, the author of the book WrocławJerusalemWrocław – will be presented in the form of an individual show, an intimate confession. The exhibition accompanying the main event that is the opening of the new Chair of Jewish Studies at the University of Wroclaw, where the work of the artist, dedicated to the place, found its permanent space, shows a sensitive artist, in constant search and creative development, fighting with matter using creation and gesture.

The space of nearly 200 square meters, located in a townhouse full of memories of pre-war Wrocław, is a perfect symbolic fit with the artist’s own history – longing and fear, constant journey, loss and sense of happiness. Paintings woven with paint and gesture enchantingly weave themselves into the structure of the interior, creating a nostalgic and beautiful whole.

The unusual visiting times are the interesting formula of the place – the host of many events and meetings.

Visiting the exhibition will be possible on:

22.06 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. | 29.06 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. | 06.07 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

23.06 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. | 30.06 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. | 07.07 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The history of Wrocław – Jerusalem – Wrocław has come full circle again.

Lev Stern’s painting – with its intricate paths of colour and structure – has already had a showing at mia ART GALLERY in 2016. Now, the artist shows us large formats, full of the joy of life and space, boldly juxtaposing them with the stylised interiors of Fabryka Sensu.
