About
Blue-eyed cats in gold.
Spotted pigs in slippers.
Sharp-toothed, colourful wolves.
And among them, Anna, as if from a different world: a labyrinth of dreams, imagination and magic.
This is the world of Anna Malicka-Zamorska, and the exhibition of her work, the title of which suggests its content. “Through the Looking Glass” – Anna and mia ART GALLERY invite you to the show.,
Agata Saraczyńska writes: “Like Alice, Anna isn’t afraid of anything, and this is why her slow, grinning beasts, dragons and werewolves come into existence.
Supposedly dangerous creatures, but Anna’s hand has managed to tame them. Their ferocity has been set aside, leaving room for beauty and gentle acquiescence. They stretch lazily, walking around and sitting comfortably, coquettishly exposing their bellies for scratching.
Alice holds in her lap a cat that doesn’t smile like the Cheshire. Hanna plays with snakes, and Dorothy? There are two Dorothys, both equally bravely facing off against adversity to reach the land of their dreams. Except that Anna leaves no doubts: the Wizard will not help with their/our problems.
However, the artist gives the viewers the key – beauty – so they can open up their hearts and minds by themselves.”
