About

The architecture of happiness - what it is and why the two words joined together in a logical language system are important for the artist, whether architecture can be happy if the luck has a structure and logical basis?
"The architecture of happiness" is a continuation of the painting cycle entitled "The image of devastation," inspired by the albums documenting the ruins of post-war Wroclaw. Anna Kołodziejczyk provokes us to plunge into the nature of the city, highlighting its lost beauty and heritage. In all of this Wroclaw is a point of reference and inspiration.
Painting of the artist is an illustration of the Allain de Botton words, who wrote, "that happiness can have a nature not very impressive and heroic, they can be found in the system of floor boards or in the way which light travels along the surface of the plaster, and so devoid of fragile scenes pathos of beauty that touches us. "
The fascination with ruins and their picturesqueness is essential - it is part of the dark nature of what the artist carries in herself.
Images presented in the exhibition is a study of ruined buildings captured at the point of critical destructive process, dominated by the geometry, its sharpness and spaciousness, but mainly by the imagination of the artist - unlimited field of happiness experimentation.
It is hard to put up with wrongly understood modernity, that so expansively applies inert layers of solids on the old facades, ornaments, laces. … I paint tenements, villas, churches representing the world of past aesthetic ideas and show them in a stage of certain degradation. Fining, elegance of old architecture - everything is falling apart in our sight.
