UBI SUNT? WHERE ARE THEY? IN MEMORIAM OF ACTORS OF THE JERZY GROTOWSKI LABORATORIUM THEATRE

About

The ART MAIN STATION gallery by mia, located at the Main Railway Station in Wrocław invites you to an exhibition of the works by one of the most outstanding contemporary Polish artists – Krzysztof Bednarski.

The exhibition, titled Ubi sunt?/Where are they?, is dedicated to the memory of the late artists affiliated with the Jerzy Grotowski Laboratorium Theatre, long-time friends and collaborators of Bednarski.  The memory of the past, trying to stop the passing of time, visible in the works of the man who wrote The Polish Thanatos (Thanatos polski) will be demonstrated thanks to a presentation of a series of works titled Moby Dick, represented by a range of new works, never before presented in Wrocław. The exhibition will be accompanied by screenings of films created by the Artist, recordings of his performances and “random sound events”, conducive to the suspension of the natural distance between the sculpture and the viewer. The exhibition presented in our Gallery, which recently presented the now-famous Meditation and Expression exhibition will enable us to create a creative universe, in which the story of the biblical Leviathan – Moby Dick – will transform into a spectacle of multimedia art, favouring not only the experiences of aesthetic nature, but also taking us on a journey to the sphere of almost mystical sublimity and artistic truth.
