Sylwia Mucha

Bio

Sylwia Mucha is a painter and sociologist based in Wrocław, Poland. She graduated from the Faculty of Painting at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław, as well as from the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Wrocław. Currently, she works at her alma mater as an assistant in the painting studio of Professor Anna Maria Kramm.

Her artistic practice explores the relationship between memory, sensuality, and everyday experience. Through subtle compositions and soft tonalities, she evokes narratives rooted in childhood recollections and tactile sensations. Texture, light, and color are central to her work, treated as vehicles for emotional storytelling.

Her recent exhibition Kosmatość (“Fuzziness”) presents a series of paintings inspired by the sensory and symbolic qualities of fur—used as a metaphor for warmth, touch, and personal memory. Mucha regularly participates in both solo and group exhibitions and is actively engaged in Wrocław’s contemporary art scene, co-creating events and initiatives that promote contemporary painting.
